The one question nobody answers

Why we meet at 4:00 PM

We gather in the afternoon because we share this building with another congregation who meet in the morning. Come from 3:30pm if you can — there is chai and conversation before we begin.

Afterwards

Stay for chai

Nobody rushes off. After the service there is chai, snacks and a lot of talking — and it is the easiest place in the week to meet people properly. Stay as long as you like, or slip away quietly. Both are completely fine.

The things people ask

When should I arrive?
Our service starts at 4:00 PM every Sunday. Doors open from 3:30 PM — arriving a little early is the easiest way to meet someone before things begin.
What should I wear?
Whatever you are comfortable in. You will see saris and salwar kameez, jeans and jandals, and the occasional suit. Nobody is checking.
Where do I park?
Free parking on site.
What happens with my children?
Children are welcome in the service, and there is a space for them during the Sunday gathering where they can learn and play. Nobody minds noise — this is a church full of families.
What actually happens?
Singing and worship in Punjabi, Hindi and English, prayer together, and a message from the Bible. Afterwards there is chai and food, and you are very welcome to stay as long as you like.
Will I be singled out?
No. You will not be asked to stand up, introduce yourself, or give money. Come in, sit down, and let us look after you.
I do not speak Punjabi or Hindi. Is that a problem?
Not at all. We move between all three languages, and most of our people speak more than one. Plenty of our congregation grew up here and speak English first.
