Pastor Vikas teaching from the lectern

After your first Sunday

Growing in Christ

Coming on a Sunday is the beginning. What follows is the slower work — learning Scripture, learning to pray, and finding the place where God has put you to serve.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18

How faith grows here

Four things, in no particular hurry

None of this is a course you enrol in. It is simply how people in this church grow — and you are welcome to begin wherever you are.

Sit under the Word

Come on a Sunday and hear the Bible taught. Then listen again during the week — every service is recorded. More of the Christian life is built this way than by anything else.

Learn to pray

Pray with us on a Sunday, and bring what you are carrying to the midweek prayer gathering. Praying alongside people who have prayed for years is how most of us learned.

Belong to the church family

Faith is not meant to be carried alone. Let the church know your name, and let people pray for you by name — it grows best in the company of people who will.

Serve where you are needed

When you are ready, tell someone. Welcoming, worship, the children, prayer, the practical work of a Sunday — there is always something, and somebody will walk you into it.

The life of the church

Where the church puts its hands

The things this church already does every week. Your part in any of them begins by telling someone — there is no form to fill in.

Sunday worship

Sundays at 4:00 PM

The whole church gathered — worship, prayer, and the Word preached without compromise.

Prayer & healing

Midweek

A quieter space to bring what is heavy — health, family, visas, work — and to pray together.

Family & youth

During Sunday service

A space for children and young people to be taught, cared for and prayed over while their parents worship.

Caring for new arrivals

Ongoing

Practical help settling into New Zealand — advice, connections, and a church that has walked the same road.

For the time of our midweek prayer gathering, call the church orsend us a message.

Your first step

How people usually begin

  1. Come on a Sunday

Doors open at 3:30 PM and the service begins at 4:00 PM at 11 Tironui Road, Papakura. You do not need to tell anyone you are coming.

  2. Speak to someone

Tell one of our team where you would like to serve. That one sentence is the whole process.

  3. We will walk you in

Whoever leads that ministry will get in touch and bring you alongside them, at a pace that suits you.

The next generation

Children and young people

While the adults worship, the children have a space of their own — taught, cared for and prayed over. Many of them were born here and are growing up bilingual in a faith their parents carried across an ocean.

Every week some of them stand in front of the whole congregation to say a verse they have learned. We are not raising them to sit at the back.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.

Not sure where you fit?

Most people are not, at first. Ask us — we would gladly pray it through with you and help you find where God has placed you.
