Why we pray
Prayer is not an extra at the edge of church life. It is how we come before God through Jesus Christ — bringing Him what we are carrying, and carrying one another.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
What we believe about it
We pray in the name of Jesus
We pray because God listens to His people and answers them. Not as a technique and not as a transaction, but as children speaking to a Father who is able to act — and we come to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, because it is through Him that anyone can come to God at all.
So prayer runs through everything here. We pray when the church gathers on Sunday. We pray midweek. We pray Scripture back to God, we pray for people by name, and we keep praying long after the week they asked.

Whatever you are carrying — health, family, work, or something you have kept to yourself — our pastors will bring it before God this week. Your request goes only to them.

We lay hands on those who ask
Every Sunday there is space to be prayed for. We lay hands on those who ask, and we ask God to do what He alone can do — for bodies, for minds, for families.
You may say as much or as little as you wish, and you are welcome to ask for prayer while you are still working out what you believe. Prayer here is always by invitation, and it is offered in confidence.
Midweek
Praying together through the week
Alongside Sunday, the church meets midweek to pray — a quieter room, and time to bring what is heavy before God. Everyone is welcome to come and pray with us, in whatever words you have.

Let someone pray with you
You are welcome to come on a Sunday and ask for prayer in person. We gather at 4:00 PM at 11 Tironui Road, Papakura, and there are people here who would count it a privilege to pray with you.
