Jesus Is Lord
A Christ-centred church in Papakura, Auckland
We gather every Sunday to worship Jesus Christ, to hear God's Word and to pray for one another — one church family drawn from many nations.
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!2 Corinthians 5:17
Our foundation
Why this church exists
We exist because of Jesus Christ. Not because a group of people wanted somewhere to meet, and not because we share a language or a country — but because He is Lord, and He is worth gathering for.
Everything else here follows from that. We open the Bible because it is God's Word. We pray because He hears. We welcome whoever walks in because He welcomed us first.

Our Sunday
What a Sunday is for
-
Worship
We come together to worship God — in English, Punjabi and Hindi, with the whole room singing. Worship is not the warm-up for the message. It is the church giving God what belongs to Him.
-
The Word
The Bible is opened, read and preached. Not motivational talks with a verse attached — Scripture explained plainly enough for a new believer to follow, and applied honestly enough that it costs something.
-
Prayer
We come before God in prayer, seeking His presence and trusting Him with our lives. We pray for one another, and we lay hands on those who ask.
Our pastors
Led by Vikas & Jyoti
Pastor Vikas and Pastor Jyoti Garg lead The New Beginning Church. Their calling is a plain one: to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach God's Word faithfully, and to raise disciples who love God and serve others.
They pray with anyone who asks, and they carry this church the way you carry a family — which is how they lead it.
One church, many nations
Many nations, one church family
People born in New Zealand and people who arrived last year, worshipping God in English, Punjabi and Hindi — one family in Christ, gathered before Him every Sunday.

Growing in Christ
Sunday is where it begins, not the whole of it. Faith grows the way anything living grows — slowly, in company, with people who know your name.
Through the week our people pray together, study Scripture, serve where they are needed and look after one another's families. There is a place in that for you, whenever you are ready for it.

Prayer
Bring what you are carrying
We come before God in prayer, and we lay hands on those who ask. Health, families, work, visas, and the things kept private — all of it can be brought to Him, and all of it is held in confidence.
Pastor Vikas and Pastor Jyoti pray with anyone who asks. You can also send a request privately, and it goes only to them.

The next generation
Raising children who know Him
Our children are not the church of tomorrow kept at the back. They are part of the church now — taught, prayed over, and given something of their own to carry home.
Every week some of them stand in front of the whole congregation to say a verse they have learned. It is often the most honest moment of the service.

The church at prayer
We carry one another
Hands laid in prayer. Families standing together. A church that prays for its people by name, Sunday after Sunday.
